Avoiding Bad Restaurants
As you may know traveling on the road presents its share of challenges, one of which is being able to find a decent restaurant for dinner in a town like Jasper Alabama. May I recommend The Bug & Tussle, no joke, home of the 96oz steak? If you finish it all by yourself, consider it on the house. And that is the best you'll do in Jasper! Here is a short list for things to avoid when picking a dining spot on the road.
10) Never eat at a place called the Captain's Table.
9) Never eat at a place where they serve you on pewter dish ware.
8) If their logo or exterior is painted in a brown & orange color theme...avoid
7) If veal oscar, chicken cordon blu, chicken ala king or any other antiquated dish
is on the menu...run.
6) Avoid all places who's symbol is that of the food your about to consume such
as...a steakhouse with the plaster of paris cow out front...
5) ...the poultry restaurant with the logo of a chicken with a chef's hat wielding a
chopping knife...
4) ...a pig sporting formal wear for a barbecue joint...
3) ...any restaurant with a gopher, raccoon or squirrel as a mascot as you're sure
to be consuming some sort of rodentia in your meal.
2) Never eat in a place with the name "kettle" in it...such as The Spaghetti Kettle
(You'll actually find this place in Rome...New York that is!)
1) Never EVER take a restaurant tip from a bellman or hotel front desk employee
as you are sure to be directed to a restaurant that they can afford, and most
certainly have a logo with a cross dressing sheep dressed in a brown & orange
dress. There specialty will be medieval-style lamb chops served on pewter-ware and the restaurant's name will be the "Captain's Mutton Kettle."
